Biografia:
Depois da dissolução da Poet & The One Man Band, Albert Lee (guitarra), Pete Gavin (bateria), Tony Colton (vocais) e Ray Smith (guitarra) uniram-se a Chas Hodges (baixo, violino e vocais) e Mike O 'Neill (teclados) para formar a Heads, Hands & Feet, influenciada pelo country rock, e gravar um disco duplo, que tinha muitos pontos em comum, na época, com o trabalho das bandas Nitty Gritty Dirt Band e Grateful Dead. O álbum, homônimo, povoado de convidados do cenário folk e de cantores/compositores (nota minha: não consta nenhum convidado no encarte do disco), foi lançado em dois LPs nos Estados Unidos, mas em apenas um na Europa. Ganhou boa recepção crítica, destacando-se a guitarra de Lee.
O tecladista O'Neill saiu logo após o lançamento do disco, e a banda, afastando-se do country, adotou um estilo mais roqueiro. Enquanto a banda mostrava competência nas gravações, ganhando positivas resenhas, os conflitos internos causavam contínuos problemas, dividindo o grupo antes do lançamento de "Old Soldiers Never Die", de 1973, que marcou a mudança para a gravadora Atlantic Records. Em 1996, o selo See For Miles editou "Home From Home', uma coleção de sobras de estúdios e demos previamente registrados pela banda antes de assinar com a Island Records. Albert Lee formou a Albert Lee Band, com Pete Gavin e Chas Hodges, e mais tarde juntou-se à banda de Eric Clapton. Chas Hodges, posteriormente, criou a dupla Chas & Dave, com Dave Peacock (Steven McDonald, AllMusic; tradução livre do inglês).
