Biografia:
A banda pop/rock Blue foi criada em Glasgow, na Escócia, em 1973, por Timmy Donald (nascido em 1946, em Bristol, Avon, Inglaterra; bateria), Ian MacMillan (nascido em 1947, em Paisley, Strathclyde, Escócia; baixo, guitarra e vocal) e Hugh Nicholson (nascido em 1949, em Rutherglen, Strathclyde, Escócia; guitarra, vocal e teclados).

Após assinar com a Rocket Records, gravadora de Elton John (que também chegou a produzi-la), a banda lançou seu primeiro disco, homônimo, reforçando-se, posteriormente, com o ingresso de Robert "Smiggy" Smith (nascido em 1946, em Kiel, Alemanha; guitarra) para o segundo álbum, intitulado "Life In The Navy". Em seguida, o grupo reformulou-se, permanecendo MacMillan e Nicholson e entrando Charlie Smith (bateria) e David Nicholson (guitarra). E, assim reorganizado, emplacou "Gonna Capture Your Heart" na parada de singles americana e no Top 40 do Reino Unido, além de lançar mais dois discos, "Another Night Time Flight", em 1977, e "Fool's Party", em 1979, antes de separar-se (William Ruhlmann, AllMusic; tradução livre do inglês).
